Parent & FamilY Philanthropy

The Parent & Family Philanthropy Council (PFPC) is a leadership board of parent volunteers who serve a one-year renewable term.

Members enjoy developing a connection with the university and with each other, and many parent volunteers choose to stay active on the committee even after their children graduate.

The Council’s goals are to raise awareness, increase philanthropic support and become more involved with the university to enhance the UCF experience for all Knights.

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

Dear Parents,

I am the parent of two UCF graduates and a current student. My youngest daughter is in the Burnett Honors College, majoring in psychology and Spanish.

Although I didn’t attend UCF, my heart is where my children are. It has been incredible to watch UCF grow by leaps and bounds over the years. I believe it’s everything a university should be: innovative, accessible and academically excellent.

I also believe in the importance of giving back.

They say it takes a village, and I believe the support of a community is essential to a young adult’s success in higher education.

With a student body as large and economically diverse as UCF’s, there is no shortage of students who need additional support. I am committed to do anything I can to help set other students up for success.

That’s why I did not hesitate when I was asked to serve as Chair of the Parent & Family Philanthropy Council (PFPC) at UCF.

When parents are able to contribute more to help students other than their own, it enhances the quality of the university experience for all. I hope you’ll join me and other UCF Parents to support Knights whose parents may not be able to help.

I look forward to working with you to make a difference in the lives of all Knights.

Sincerely,

Cecile Bertot P’17 ’19 ’23
