Senior Advancement Writer

UCF Title: Associate Director, Advancement & Alumni Affairs

Position Number: 39789

The Senior Advancement Writer will write, edit and collaborate on principal level gift proposals and provide creative writing support to the university’s fundraising efforts. This position will be responsible for identifying stories across the university and ensuring those stories are being shared with alumni, parents and current and prospective donors to encourage philanthropic support for UCF. The Advancement Writer will serve as the media relations liaison and writer for media releases on major gifts, working in collaboration with the University’s Central Communications and Marketing department. This position will also collaborate with college and unit based development and communications staff members.  Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience. Preferences: Journalism and creative writing experience preferred.  Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.  Demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy.  Demonstrated ability to function as a team player.  Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex organization.  Strong interpersonal skills.  Flexibility to adjust to pressing needs as they develop.

Assistant Director, Prospect Development

UCF Title: Assistant Director, Advancement & Alumni Affairs

Works closely with the Director for Advancement for Prospect Development, as well as other prospect development staff to provide professional prospect development research and information services in support of the fundraising goals and objectives of UCF Advancement. This role is responsible for prospect identification and research, as well as assisting with database screening initiatives, querying, reporting and analysis.  Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience. Preferences: Possess overall knowledge of fundraising and prospect development principles and methodologies; ability to prioritize and multi-task daily and long-term projects and assignments; ability to establish strong internal and external relationships.

Associate Director for Advancement, Regional & University-Wide Initiatives

Responsible for the discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects at the $25,000+ level or higher. This position will represent the entire range of University needs and priorities and will maintain a portfolio of prospects and donors with multiple special philanthropic interests or in assigned geographic regions.  Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience. IT Business Analyst

UCF Title: IT Business Analyst

Analyzes business needs by exploring relationships in collections of information and by holding discussions and requirements gathering sessions with other Advancement members in order to provide unified Business Intelligence solutions for stakeholders.  Evaluates, designs, builds, and maintains business intelligence solutions using tools such as SQL Server 2014, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and Tableau.  Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year of information technology experience.  Preferences: Expertise with Windows operating systems, SQL Server 2014 and its BI tools, Tableau, Blackbaud fundraising software products, services, and SDKs, and Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Access, and Word.

Associate Vice President Advancement, Marketing and Communications

UCF Title: Associate Vice President, Advancement & Alumni Affairs

The associate vice president leads the creation and implementation of the advancement marketing and communications program with responsibility for ensuring advancement brand identity is consistent with the UCF brand and there is a strategic and results driven approach to communication with alumni, donors and external stakeholders.  Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and seven years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and nine years of appropriate experience.  Preferences: Experience in effectively leading a marketing and communications program and staff, preferably in higher education advancement.  Ability to develop and implement a creative and strategic approach to marketing and communications programs that resonate with diverse constituencies, advance organization goals and are results oriented.  Confident in making public presentations before high-level audiences.

Associate Director, Alumni Professional Engagement

The Associate Director for Alumni Professional Engagement provides leadership and management for Advancement’s alumni professional engagement efforts, offering a comprehensive and innovative suite of services and programs that support individual and group counseling, in-person and virtual professional development, networking and mentoring opportunities and lifelong learning events.  Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience. Director for Advancement, Corporate and Foundation Relations

Develops and implements yearly strategic fundraising plans in collaboration with the Assistant Vice President for Advancement, Corporate and Foundation Relations and works in coordination with the Executive Director of Limbitless Solutions Inc. This position identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards major gifts in support of the strategic programs priorities for corporations and foundations and Limbitless Solutions Inc.  Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience. Preferences: Ideal candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be a superb editor, with demonstrated service orientation and diplomacy; the ability to multi-task; be highly organized and detail-oriented. Ability to synthesize complex sources of information and prepare proposals. Demonstrates decisiveness and sound judgment in decision making and use of University resources. Ideal candidate will be an inquisitive and entrepreneurial professional motivated by the opportunity to build a vision and strategy for industry relations. Some regional and national travel/overnight travel is required; Experience in Microsoft Office programs and use of databases.
